Miss. Mipa Lee

March 28, 2009

Mipa is a good friend of mine. She lives, and works in South Korea. She is currently editing english essays, and working on her new blog http://aliensdayout.blogspot.com/ . The images above are a few older works. She has told me she is stepping away from graphic design, painting/drawing, and pursuing different career opportunities. Personally I think she should keep it going, but i guess if you are no longer into it, then its time to move on.
Make sure you check out her site here and check out her new blog.
Maybe you should even drop her a note, and encourage her to keep creating!

We Tell Stories, “Hard Times”

March 16, 2009

We Tell Stories is a digital fiction site created by Penguin Books, where 6 authors produced 6 stories in 6 weeks. “We Tell Stories” ended up winning top honor in
Best of Show, and an award for experimentation [cutting edge] at this years SXSW.
One of the 6 projects was created by  Matt Mason, and Nicholas Felton. Their inspiration came from the famous book, Hard Times, by Charles Dickens. Mason
was the mastermind behind the words, and Felton provided the graphics. Their interpretation compares what is going on now, to what happened in the past.
Make sure you check out the entire project. It is available as a pdf download.
“an infographic novel based on Hard Times by Charles Dickens - toughest brief
of my life.” Matt Mason

Mato Atom

March 10, 2009

Unfortunately i do not have much knowledge of this particular artist/designer. I do know that he was not very happy with this Old Navy project due to “too many client requests,” which I found to an honest description of what does happen while working for some clients…but I have never seen someone label a project in such a way.
Anyway: I think these are awesome, and when I learn more about Mato Atom I will be sure to post information.

Nooka Noooka Cuckoo

March 10, 2009

Known as the Nooka Cuckoo, this concept timepiece is made out of rubber like most Nooka watches, and has a built in cuckoo clock. I guess we have seen crazier concepts to hit the market in recent years, but if it does get put into production I know one person who will wear it : @anthonymarinos .
** Sorry I failed to mention that it was designed by Hannes Grebin. Click his name to see more of his work!
